Development Coordinator (Part-Time)

Since 1941, Mainspring Schools has led Austin’s effort to provide quality early childhood education, nutrition and support services to underserved families in the community. Our mission is to help families break out of the cycle of poverty.

We are a NAEYC-accredited, nonprofit preschool that partners with United Way, AISD, Workforce Solutions, Early Head Start, and numerous funders to make sure that our kids are prepared for kindergarten socially, emotionally, and educationally and that their families are in the best position for future success.

We are looking for a part-time (20 hours per week), task-oriented Development Coordinator to create and implement plans to identify, solicit, and secure gifts from individuals and organizations, including foundations, associations, and corporations.

In this role, working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, you would help build the foundation of Mainspring’s development and fundraising efforts, including CRM setup, data collection, research, messaging and scheduled activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Executive Director, Board of Directors and development consultant on creation of development plan, which will guide all fundraising activities

  • Set up new fundraising CRM (Salesforce Nonprofit), including migration of data from current database

  • Set up and integrate related services, including email marketing platform

  • Maintain CRM database, including foundation, corporation, association and individual donor files

  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate, foundation, association and individual donors

  • Create CRM dashboard and fundraising reports as needed

  • Coordinate written materials, solicitations, proposals and donor-related publications

  • Create and publish social media content to encourage donor engagement

  • Send thank you correspondences and gift receipts to donors

  • Assist with the coordination of fundraising events

  • Provide support to Executive Director and Board of Directors for donor cultivation and stewardship

  • Propose ideas for improving development efforts

  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2 years minimum of development experience in a nonprofit or academic setting

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and high level of accountability

  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of and make progress on various tasks at the same time

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM database software programs
